B.S Audio Utility

B.S Audio Utility is a redesign and enhancement of Ableton's native utility device and is meant to replace the original completely. It keeps all the functionality from the original and gaines some new and improved features like true stereo panning or better bass mono options, that will make it an essential tool to your Ableton workflow. Since we think everyone should have access to those essential tools, we decided to give away B.S Audio Utility entirely for free.

Key Features

• Advanced bass mono options that preserve low-end energy by using only the left or right channel instead of summing, avoiding phase cancellation common in the original Utility device.
• True stereo panning for more natural spatial placement compared to balance panning.
• Tilt EQ for fast, intuitive tonal shaping of your signal.
• Phase correlation meter to identify phase issues in the low end for better mono compatibility.
• DC offset indicator with optional filtering to protect speakers from low-frequency bias.
• Auto mute function that silences the output when playback stops, ideal for cutting long tails or ambient noise during arrangement.
• Overshoot protection with selectable modes (Soft Clip, Hard Clip, TanH, Limiter) to prevent sudden volume spikes and enable safe sound design experimentation.

Compatibility & Requirements

• Requires Ableton Live 12 Suite or Standard with a Max for Live license.
• This device is a Max for Live (M4L) plugin, not a VST plugin.
